A snowfall warning says that almost 15 cm of snow is coming to Ottawa

Even though there is a snow warning for Tuesday and nearly 15 centimeters of snow are expected, both English and French school buses are running in Ottawa.

The rest of eastern Ontario is also out of luck. In western Quebec, there have been no changes.

The Ottawa Student Transportation Authority said there could be delays.

In general, schools are open, and families can check with each school or board to see what they can do when buses don’t run.

These snowfall warnings from Environment Canada also cover Cornwall, Brockville, Prescott-Russell, Gatineau, and places north of Gatineau.

The snow should stop there by late this afternoon.

Environment Canada said that there was light snow in Ottawa at 2 a.m.

For the rest of eastern Ontario, there are warnings about up to 10 centimeters of snow that will end earlier in the afternoon.

Bancroft and Renfrew County may get closer to five centimeters.

Since winter started on Dec. 21, Ottawa has had 10 days with at least 10 centimeters of snow (this would be 11 if the forecast holds).

Since the first snowflakes fell in November, about 265 cm of snow have been measured at its international airport.

Most of this week, the capital will have highs of around 0 °C during the day. The temperature on Friday may be closer to -5 C.
