There are still some snowfall warnings, but no more winter storm warnings

Because it snowed last night and is expected to snow in some places this morning, school buses in eastern Ontario will not run Thursday.

Schools are open. Check with your school or board to find out more about your choices.

Most school buses in western Quebec are running. The Centre de services scolaire des Draveurssays there may be delays on some routes.

Environment Canada still has snowfall warnings for Gatineau, Ottawa, and the counties nearby in eastern Ontario. Warnings about other winter storms and snowfall have also ended.

The snowfall warning says that there could be another 2–4 cm of snow Thursday morning, followed by a smaller version of the storm from the night before in the afternoon and evening.

From 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, most drivers in Ottawa won’t be able to park on most streets because of the cold weather.

Kingston is still testing out a new way to park in the winter.

Several early morning flights at the Ottawa International Airport have also been canceled.

The forecast for Ottawa is that it will be around -10 C for the rest of the week, except for Friday night, when it will drop into the -20s.

That’s colder than usual for this time of year, which has been mostly warmer than usual.

Crews working on the Rideau Canal Skateway haven’t been able to open a section yet this year. They said earlier this week that the ice is so bad that vehicles can’t drive on it.
