1 man with serious injuries was taken to the hospital, police say
Gatineau police are looking for a suspect after a man was shot in the city’s Hull sector on Tuesday afternoon and taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
The Service de Police de la Ville de Gatineau (SVPG) says that the man was seriously hurt in a situation that involved gunfire.
At a news briefing on Tuesday, SVPG spokesman Patrick Kenney said that the man’s injuries made police worry about his health.
As of Tuesday night, police were still looking for the suspect, who they think may have a gun.
Officers had been in the area since shortly after 3 p.m., and they were still there several hours later near where Saint-Joseph Boulevard meets Montclair Boulevard.
People in the area saw members of the police tactical squad searching businesses and homes. Nearby, the front of the Bloome real estate development project was marked by a crime scene.Les Galeries de Hull shopping centre.
Police did not say who the victim was or how old he or she was.
In a French tweet, the SVPG said, “Even though the event seems to have been planned and no other shots have been reported since, we ask the public to stay away from the area.” “In the same way, people in the neighborhood are asked to stay inside so they don’t get in the way of police work.”
