A man in a grey T-shirt smiles at the camera, while standing next to a wooly-looking blanket with green and grey squares on it.

The Last of Us on HBO has a wool blanket from Topsy Farms that is a “character.

Jacob Murray has a tip for people who are getting ready for the worst: “Canadian wool is the only way to make a blanket that will last until the end of the world.”

Thanks to HBO’s hit show, “Game of Thrones,” he can sort of prove his point. The Last of Us.

A few weeks ago, Murray and his girlfriend Rachel Hawkshaw were sitting on the couch when they decided to try out the show.

The show is based on a video game with the same name. It takes place during a pandemic caused by a fungus called “the infected,” which turns people into zombie-like creatures.

The couple meant to start with the first episode, but by accident, they went to episode eight. Moments later, they stopped when they saw something they knew: a green and grey checked blanket.

“We looked at each other and said, “No way, is that ours?” Murray thought back. On the couch, we were giving each other high-fives.

Cover a “character” who keeps showing up

Murray is a co-owner of Topsy Farms, which is on Amherst Island near Kingston, Ontario, where sheep are raised and wool products are sold.

Seeing the blanket brought back a memory from more than a year ago, when a buyer for props in the entertainment business asked about buying one.

Murray said that after seeing the show, the farm emailed the company to confirm that the blanket tightly wrapped around the character of Joel played by Pedro Pascal was one of theirs.

The blanket didn’t just show up once or twice. It was in the episode about 30 times, so often that Murray said he started to think of it as a “character” instead of a prop.

Since then, the other star of the show, Bella Ramsey, posted a picture of the blanket on social media with some heart emojis.

Murray said that the farm has a big following on social media and a lot of its own fans, but it still means a lot to have one of its products featured so prominently on a show that millions of people have seen.

He said, “We’re just a small family farm trying to keep the farmland from being turned into cottage country.” “We’re trying to keep it wild, but we know that sharing the farm is the only way to save it.”

Winner of the contest is not a fan of zombie

Murray said that since the show aired, there has been a lot more interest in the farm’s goods.

That includes the now-famous blanket, which he said has always been in demand. The only problem was that the farm only had one of that model when the episode aired.

Instead of selling it, the farm decided to hold a contest and ask people to participate through social media. Murray says that a lot of people took part. On Monday, they said who won.

Eveline St. Denis said that she never wins anything, but she decided to enter the blanket drawing anyway.

The woman from London, Ontario, said she had never seen an episode ofThe Last of UsShe said that she likes the farm and its wool more than the show. In fact, St. Denis said she was fine with “everything except the zombies.”

In the show, Joel is wrapped in the blanket while healing from a wound, but St. Denis said that her plans don’t include nursing anyone back to health.

She said with a laugh, “It will be on my couch.” “Every time I look at wool, it makes my heart smile, so I’ll be very happy every time I do that.”

St. Denis said she plans to watch the show anyway, as long as her son is nearby and she can hide behind her new blanket.
