OC Transpo says that a loose wire overhead on the LRT Confederation Line near Rideau station caused delays Tuesday afternoon and night.

In a series of tweets, the transit agency said that the problem was fixed overnight and that service was back to normal by Wednesday morning. There is now full LRT service.

The transit agency tweeted about the problem for the first time shortly after 4:40 p.m.

OC Transpo said that full Line 1 service went on until 10 p.m., but trains on the route were late because only the westbound platforms at Parliament and Rideau Stations were in use.

After 10 p.m., OC Transpo said trains would run between the Blair and Hurdman stations, while the R1 bus would run between the Hurdman and Tunney’s Pasture stations.
