Monday, the animal was seen at Hylands Golf Club and caught by wildlife experts

Last week, a 27-kilogram pig was seen playing around on a military golf course. It was safely taken away.

The pig was filmed on the grounds of the Hylands Golf Club, which is just southeast of the Ottawa International Airport. The Canadian Forces Personnel Support Program runs the course, and most of the people who take it are current or former military members.

When the CBC asked the golf course about the pig, they sent them to the Department of National Defence and Canadian Forces for more information. They confirmed that the animal was found on the course on Monday.

In a statement, Capt. Yanick Hamel said, “We can confirm that it was taken away in a humane way and was in good shape when it left the property.” “There was no damage done to the course.”

The military wouldn’t let anyone at the course be interviewed or answer questions about how long the pig had been there or if it had caused any problems for golfers.

The pig had to be taken away, so trained people from the provincial Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry were sent to do it.

The ministry said in an email that it was a domestic pig that weighed about 27 kilograms. No one knew what kind it was. The ministry couldn’t tell if it was a pet or an animal from a farm. If the pig had a name, the ministry didn’t know what it was.

It said that a catch pole was used to catch the pig on the golf course, and then the pig was taken to the Wildlife Research Monitoring Section for testing of diseases.

The ministry didn’t know exactly how the pig got to the golf course, but it did know that on Friday it was about five kilometers south of the course.
