Police say there is no threat to public safety, but people are asked to stay away from the area

After getting a call about weapons at Charles P. Allen High School on Monday morning, Halifax Regional Police say they have taken one person into custody.

Constable Nicolas Gagnon said, “I can confirm that there are injuries.” “As soon as I know what’s going on for sure, I’ll let you know.”

Students took videos of two adults being taken by ambulance to the hospital and one person being arrested outside the school.

Police are telling people not to go to the area. After the incident, the Halifax Regional Centre for Education said that the school was put on hold and made safe.

Just after 10:30 a.m., the center announced that school was over for the day, students would be let out soon, and buses were on their way to the school.

A letter to parents said, “There was a problem at school first thing this morning.”

“Every student is safe, and there is no threat to public safety right now.”
