Two stalkers fall in love when they team up to keep a close pair of eyes on their respective exes. Predictable but not without a little charm. Some interesting visuals, excluding the forty-seven close-ups of Meg Ryan smiling and giggling.

Not Bad, Not Bad

Stalking does not sound like a viable basis for a romantic comedy, but actor-turned-director Griffin Dunne and screenwriter Robert Gordon have somehow made it work in this entertaining film. Meg Ryan and Matthew Broderick play Maggie and Sam, respectively, two jilted lovers who scheme to break up their now-linked exes, Anton and Linda. It goes without saying that Maggie and Sam gradually discover they have more in common than a desire to get even, and the sunny, romantic angle of the story, as charming as it is, is by-the-numbers. But Addicted manages to pack in a lot more bite than most contemporary Hollywood romantic comedies; this is, after all, a revenge story, and the deliciously dark humor of the revenge plot serves as a soothing, stinging tonic to the more formulaic sap. Broderick holds his own as the lovelorn Sam, but the film is mostly a showcase for the fired-up Ryan, obviously relishing the opportunity to throw aside her trademark perk. She hilariously plays Maggie's bitterness and nastiness to the hilt, helping the film maintain its mean-sprited edge as the story takes the inevitable turn to the sweet.

Morning movie.

I caught this movie while zapping on the television a few weeks ago. I thought it was a cute romantic comedy, enough to keep my attention all the way until the end.

Even though the whole plot is SO predictable, Meg Ryan is always a pleasure to watch. Without her presence, I do not think that I would have been interested enough to watch the whole thing. However, she is very refreshing in Addicted to love and made the movie "watchable".

As for the rest, this is exactly what you would expect: a cute story, the plot taking an "unexpected" turn (sic) and decent acting.

Pleasant surpise!

Everything about this movie is quite good, from the cinematography to the actors performances, even the dialogue is not bad (good spicy sense of black humor!).

Both, Meg Ryan and Matthew Broderick, are given a nice role in this movie to finally get rid of their sweet little image. But, the only thing I wasn't too impressed about was the sort of revenge given by Maggie. It doesn't belong to this sort of comedy...

A little sappiness now and then is a good thing!

Its sappy yes.. Come on you couldnt tell that it would be from the trailer.... we all know the story and whats bound to happen.. and basically the story is french kiss without the french. But hey its Meg Ryans niche and we all appreciate her in it.. i mean with the blond hair and blue eyes and little turned up nose its kind of hard to see her in any other type of role.... (proof of life... in the cut.. against the ropes) lets face it serious is not her thing. She should stick to romantic comedies.

This is a great romance comedy film. Meg Ryan comes out of her usually bubbly cute typecast to play a sarcastic jilted ex- love. She teams up with Matthew Broderick who is also pinning for his ex-girlfriend and trouble ensews. You laugh, laugh then sneer at their antics to retrieve the people who don't deserve their affections. This is a must see!

Meg Ryan all over AGAIN!

This was just another Meg Ryan flick... literally. I think all of her movies are the same. Though I love her movies, I felt like I had seen this story line somewhere else... maybe French Kiss. Oh, but this time it's the guy who lost the girl, and he's not afraid of flying!

It is a very cute movie, with funny and romantic moments, so one may define this as a chick-flick. Guys beware. Also, if you like to know the ending 5 minutes in without surprise, this is your movie.

Overall, this is the movie for girls' night, and 'treat my bf to an evening of torture'.

Enjoy!

Not as bad as you heard

If you enjoyed "When Lucy is falling", you'll enjoy this flick. I even went out and purchased it.

It's a nice enjoyable chick flick to watch on a friday evening after a hard day @work and you don't want to think; you merely want to take a nice long bath, order in, sit in front of the screen and zone out for 2hrs. Hell, smoke a joint if you have it. It's that kind of film.

Meg Ryan (playing a sassy biker chick) and Mathew Broderick (as a lovesick astronomer) play two jilted lovers who share in the hobby of spying and stalking their exes every movement.

This isn't your standard romantic comedy, it's got .... a dark side. As I'm sure there are many exes out there who have thought of doing just what these two characters do, only most don't take it as far as they did.

If you've recently broken up w/an ex, or can recall the heartache of being DUMPED, then rent this flic. It's a nice way to forget your broken heart.

What the hell is this?

let me get this straight ...this movie should've never been made in the first place. You have two psychopaths stalking to love birds, yeah they should really be locked in cages.Ryan is good but in this one she goes to far with her smily teen face why bother?

Good

I really enjoyed this love story. It makes you think if the person that you think you love is really the person that you love. The writing was great adn the acting even better. Meg Ryan as usual was great in this movie. The french guy got on my nerves a bit but its very understandable considering thats the type of role he was trying to play. Great date movie. Go see this if you want to have an enjoyable movie night.

Definitely a rental

This was a cute movie, nothing more, nothing less. Meg Ryan takes on her usual role, I guess if ain't broke don't fix it. Romantic comedies is her thing and she should stick to it. When she veers away from them we get an awful movie like In the Cut.

Matthew Broderick is the real gem here. He is a good actor and I would like to see him in some more movies. Ryan and Broderick have some chemistry and it comes across in this film.

Most of us have been jilted or have done the jilting so this is a good movie to watch. Not a movie to pay money for but should be watched if it comes on tv.

Bad and badder

This film was horrible. I can't believe that it made it to the theatre. Meg Ryan is her usual cutsy ditsy self. You get fed up a third way into the film. You feel like calling their exes and telling them that these two crazy people are watching them and that they should have them locked up. There is no plot, everything is predictable and the acting is poor. Do not waste your money or free coupons to rent this!
