How to participate in the Auctions of OttawaXPress.ca

Welcome to the Auctions of OttawaXPress.ca, the new interactive contest that allows you to exchange tokens earned on the website against free tickets and prizes from our weekly selection.
Steps to follow
1. Earn tokens by participating in one of 2 ways:
TERMINATION OF THE AUCTION SYSTEM
In preparation for a change in the Contests on Ottawaxpress.ca, it is no longer possible to earn any tokens on Ottawaxpress.ca. Members have until August 15, 2007 to spend their tokens at the Auctions.

2. Bid your tokens on the auction of your choice:

Visit the Auctions page where all active auctions are listed. |

|
Select the event you’re interested in and bid any number of tokens, as long as it equals or exceeds the minimum threshold. |
·
|
You can bid on as many events as your pool of tokens will allow you. |
3. Watch your auctions:

Come back regularly to the “My auctions” page to make sure your bid is still
among the winning bids. |
·
|
If other members have placed bids higher than yours, it is possible that you may have been kicked out of the winning pack. |
4. Raise your bids, if necessary:

In the event that you have been kicked out of the winning pack, you may raise your bid to get back into the race.
|
·
|
You may not however reduce or remove your bids.
|
5. The auction ends.

|
When the end time has been reached, the winners will be noticed in the next 24H by e-mail with instructions to collect their prize. If you do not receive an email of confirmation after 24h, please contact us at concours@voir.ca.
|

Their pool of tokens will be reduced by the amount of the lowest winning bid (dutch auction).
|
·
|
The losers regain their bid and their pool of tokens therefore remains intact.

OttawaXPress.ca Auctions rules :

|
Winners must come in person to the reception desk of the office where the auction is taking place (either in Montreal or Ottawa) with a printed copy of the e-mail confirming that they have won the specified prize as well as a piece of identification in order to receive their prize. It is NOT POSSIBLE to receive prizes by mail.
|
|
|
It is impossible for us to give a prize, or to credit tokens, if the member claims his prize after the deadline.
|
|
|
Participants must be 18 years of age or older. Proof of identity will be requested when the prize is collected at the reception desk. Minors may participate as long as they are accompanied by a parent or legal guardian when claiming their prize.
|
|
|
Participants may only participate in online auctions belonging to their own region, in other words the region they selected as their own when they made their first visit to one of the www.voir.ca websites. The six regions are Montreal, Quebec City, Gatineau/Ottawa, Estrie, Mauricie and Saguenay.
|
|
|
Any member who breaks the terms of use of this website, either through fraud, false identity, plagiarism, improper language in his or her comments or profile, or in any other way, will automatically lose access to his or her profile and tokens and no prize can be won by this member.
|
|
|
Communications Voir reserves the right to end these auctions without prior notice, in part or in whole, regardless of the tokens that members might have accumulated in exchange for their comments, or in any other way, and have not yet used.
|
|
|
Communications Voir will not reimburse tokens used by a participant for an online auction except in the following cases:
|
|
| |
1) In the case of cancellation of a theatrical performance, film or other type of spectacle for which tickets were obtained by auction.
|
|
| |
2) In the case where a film, for which tickets were won by auction, is withdrawn from presentation within seven days following the last day on which the participant was allowed to claim their prize.
|
|
|
Prizes must be accepted as described on the websites and cannot be transferred to another person, replaced, or exchanged in whole or in part for cash.
|
|
|
Participants can only win 1 prize by auction. If for any reasons, a participant has more than one account, he can only use tokens from one account to win an auction. We will not give away more than one prize by auction by winner.

|
Communications Voir is released from all responsibility if the participant does not receive his confirmation e-mail due to transmission failures, busy signals, traffic congestion on the websites www.voir.ca , www.hour.ca and/or www.ottawaxpress.ca, malfunctions of e-mail messaging services, and for technical failures of any kind, including, without limitation, malfunctioning of any network, servers, access providers, hardware or software, whether originating with the sender or recipient; or damage to any entrant’s or other person’s computer related to or resulting from participation in this Contest, as well as breaches of privacy due to interference by third-party computer “hackers”.

The following persons are not eligible: employees, agents and representatives of Communications Voir Inc., their parent companies and affiliates, the suppliers of prizes, equipment and services related to the contest/auction, and members of their immediate family (siblings, children, parents) and spouses (legal or common-law), and all persons residing with any such employee, agent or representative.
